FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Juli Anne Callis
EVP, Chief Operating Officer
KeyPoint Credit Union
Santa Clara, CA - November 12, 2007. KeyPoint Credit Union announces the launch of its Facebook Banking Application.
KeyPoint Credit Union and MShift® announced the launch of their jointly developed Facebook Banking Application today. The KeyPoint Credit Union Facebook banking application was developed by MShift for KeyPoint Credit Union. It provides secure, one-click access to Online Banking Account information, from within Facebook. It was developed using the Facebook API and the MShift Mobile Banking engine for Facebook users who are also members of KeyPoint Credit Union. It provides immediate one-click access to account balance information as well as access to relevant and timely information from and about KeyPoint
Credit Union. It also provides a social forum for KeyPoint Credit Union members to socialize. Account access is very secure, all account information data is encrypted with a minimum of 128 bits, and no user data is stored on the Facebook servers.
“The Facebook Banking application is our latest secure channel providing access for our high speed members” said Juli Anne Callis, EVP Chief Operating Officer. “Our current membership is significantly younger and more globally mobile than the typical credit union member. That means we need to be out there scouting for the ways to bring value in the form of the latest convenience to our existing members or risk loosing them to more forward looking organizations.” “What better way to make a difference in the overly commoditized Retail Banking market, then to link our banking service into our member life style experience and their main Social Networking platform - Facebook.” Callis stated, “This is our second major initiative with MShift; the prospects for a continued collaborative approach are excellent as both organizations mean business when it comes to bringing the best banking technology to the young and tech savvy consumer.”
“KeyPoint Credit Union requested an application to meet the needs of its Facebook users” said Awele Ndili, chief executive officer of MShift. “The application had to be secure, and yet easy to use. The KeyPoint Facebook Application leverages the Facebook API, building on the MShift Engine for user authentication and data encryption. It is a very secure application with a rich user interface. We are excited to partner with KeyPoint for the development of this novel application.”
