SANTA CLARA, Ca. – (August 2008) – KeyPoint Credit Union is headquartered in Santa Clara, the very heart of Silicon Valley. The success of KeyPoint in meeting the unique challenges of this high tech community was recently recognized by the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce. KeyPoint was named the 2008 Business Member of the Year at the Chamber’s Pyramid Awards dinner to recognize companies and members’ contributions to the success of the Chamber & Convention-Visitors Bureau.

The awards were created in 2004 to recognize service, contributions and achievements. The purpose of the Business Member of the Year Award is to recognize a local business whose contributions have made a significant and beneficial impact on the Santa Clara community.  Selection is based on achievements and contributions in areas such as governmental affairs, education, civic and community service.

“KeyPoint Credit Union was selected for its continual support and participation with the Chamber,” said Denise Harris, vice president of membership and programs for the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce.  KeyPoint Credit Union is truly a Chamber and community partner.”

“It is great to see KeyPoint emerging within Silicon Valley as a community leader. The shift to a community charter just four short years ago brought on many new challenges and opportunities.   We are honored to receive this award,” says Juli Anne Callis, EVP and Chief Operating Officer for KeyPoint. “Each member of the KeyPoint Team is encouraged to plug into local community agencies and initiatives. The Santa Clara Chamber provides many opportunities for the team to get involved in great programs such as the ones Dan MacNaughton, our liaison to the Chamber, has done so well these past years.”

KeyPoint Credit Union was founded in 1979 as AEA Credit Union providing financial services for people in the technology industry, specifically employees of companies who were members of the American Electronics Association. In 2004, KeyPoint Credit Union expanded its membership to serve the broader Silicon Valley Community. KeyPoint has developed and continues to provide a series of unique programs including Free Seminars and Workshops to assist local families and businesses.  KeyPoint became the first financial institution to launch the Facebook Banking Application, garnering Online Banking Report's "Best of the Web" award.
